TATA Altroz is the upcoming premium hatchback from Tata whose test mule was recently spotted a few times. The camouflage showed its stunning looks, and a peep into the cabin cleared that the dual-tone interiors will be mind-blowing too, just like that shown at Geneva Motor Show. The TATA Altroz was first introduced as a concept in 2018 and was promised to go out commercial at the beginning of 2019 with BS4 compliant engines but later the plan got amendments through which the concept got a new name Altroz from H4X. The commercial launch date was delayed until 2020 to buy time to mitigate the requirement of BS6 compliant petrol engines.

Looks

The phrase “Laser Looks” is made common by the brand in promoting the appearance of the hatchback Altroz, as comes with a shape that behaves as well as appears sharp. The body of the hatchback easily cuts through the air while on run. The same shape is said to be carved out using lasers which are famous for accuracy in cuttings.  Overall the hatchback has no one to compete in terms of looks in that price range.

 

 

The brand maneuvers the looks of interior and architecture of the car by using lighting schemes and also phrases like Picasa inside and alfa architecture that brings out the zenith of the hatchback. The brand admires the architecture of the hatchback by using words like agile, versatile and advanced.

 

 

Engines

The TATA Altroz will come in three engines – two petrol and diesel engines. Out of the two petrol engines, one will be from Nexon which will produce 100 Ps power and 140 Nm torque using 1.2 L petrol engine, the other petrol engine will be from Tiago which will produce 85 PS power and 114 Nm of torque. The Diesel variant will be more powerful than the petrol variant. The diesel variant will have a 1.5 L diesel engine from the Nexon which will produce a power of 110 PS and a torque of 260 Nm. All three engines will have the option of manual and AMT transmission system.

Features

It features front, the hatchback will come with all the safety features like airbags, ABS with EBD and at the interiors, the car will have an 8” infotainment system and a digital instrumental cluster which is meant to assist the driver during the drive.

 

 

Release and Price

The TATA Altroz is expected to get launched in early 2020 and will have an Ex-showroom price tag of Rs.6.5 lakh for the base variant.
