Motorola One Macro is a budget smartphone that was recently launched by Motorola with a triple camera setup at the back. The Motorola One Macro’s price is less than Rs.10,000/- in India and it comes with astounding specifications from the brand which threatens well established Chinese brands. The phone was launched to give fierce competition to budget Chinese smartphones which comes with alluring specifications and features (Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, Realme 5, Redmi Note 7S, etc).

Design

The design of One macro is no unique; it comes as a notched phone with a screen aspect ratio of 19: 9 and all the hard buttons on the right side of the screen. The size of the screen is 6.2 inches which seem quite large at first sight. The phone is IPX2 rated which means it water repellent and can sustain splashes but not deep immersions. The position of a 3.5 mm jack port is uncommon as it is placed at the top than the bottom. Overall the phone feels good while holding in the palm.

Specifications

Triple Camera (macro lens) and its review

The Motorola One Macro comes with incredible triple camera setup which includes 13MP f/2.0 primary camera sensor assisted by laser focus system, the dedicated macro lens of 2MP f/2.2 to capture images of close objects with ultimate clarity and a 2MP f/2.2 depth-sensing camera sensor. The notch at the front side over the screen holds an 8 MP f/2.2 selfie camera which has the potential to snap faces clearly with a lot of details.

Consequently, the One macro captures images of great quality using a triple camera setup at back and the macro lens is the real charm of the smartphone. However some times the 13 MP sensor fails to capture the detailed image and while using macro lens one can only capture detail in 2MP. To get the best out of the camera of One Macro, one needs stead hands.

Display

The Moto One Macro comes with a gorgeous 6.2” IPS LCD screen which delivers lifelike natural colors, the screen is composed of the resolution of HD+ that is 720 x 1520 pixels which enumerate the pixel density to 207 PPI. The bezel at the bottom is slightly thicker than those at sides which little bit seems annoying to some people.

Chipset, Processor and Internal Hardware - Performance

The Moto One Macro runs on MediaTek MT6771 Helio P70 chipset boarding an octa-core processor with four ARM Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 ones and Mali G72 GPU clocked at 900 MHz. The phone comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded by placing a micro SD card in the Hybrid Card Slot.

At the OS front, the phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie with stock UI that luckily comes with few Apps from Google and Motorola.

Battery and Charging

The phone draws energy from 4000mAh of non-removable battery which gets charged from 10W charger through type –C port at the bottom.

Price

The Moto One Macro is a sub Rs.10000/- smartphone and it costs Rs.9999/- on Flipkart in India.
