TVSJupiter ZX is a variant in Jupiter line up of the renowned motorcycle brand, TVS. Although it was the TVS who brought a successful trend of automatic scooters in India, the best selling automatic scooter is from Honda and is none other than Honda Activa. To, get the success that TVS deserves, it launched Jupiter Line whose every model resembles Honda Activa in terms of looks. The Jupiter line-up from TVS comprises models like Jupiter, Jupiter ZX, Jupiter Classic and the latest of all the Grande Edition. The Jupiter ZX is sandwiched between the top and the low-end model and hence is the most suitable for the average people in India. The TVS Jupiter ZX brings in the required specifications, desired looks, and an affordable price-tag.

Looks and design

The looks of TVS Jupiter are simple yet elegant and are more like Honda Activa than a scooty. At the front, the TVS Jupiter ZX has a small inverted triangular grill for air-flow and an embossed elongated triangular strip above it. The head part looks like a combination of the old gen Hero Pleasure and Honda Activa hence falls on the middle grounds. The split-spoke alloy wheels add to the beauty of the scooter and the portion below the seat looks sleeker than the Honda Activa, but overall neglecting the minute details the stance and looks of the TVS Jupiter ZX is similar to that of the Honda Activa. The Jupiter ZX comes in two different colors: starlight blue and royal wine.

Specifications

At engine’s front the TVS Jupiter ZX has a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, Air-cooled, OHC-BS4 compliant engine. The displacement volume of the engine is 109.7 CC and it produces the maximum power of 5.88 KW at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.4 Nm at 5500 rpm. The engine of the TVS Jupiter ZX is mated with a primary CVT and secondary gearbox which is cumulatively called a V-Matic transmission system. The ignition system on the TVS Jupiter ZX is called the Digital IDI which contains an ignition map technology. The ARAI mileage of the TVS Jupiter ZX is 62 kmpl.

In the variant with Disc brake the buyer can have 220 mm disc brake at the front wheel and a 130 mm drum brake at the rear wheel. While the drum brake variant only comes with 130 mm drum brakes at each of the wheels. Moreover, the tires on the Jupiter ZX are of a tubeless kind.

At the front the scooter has a telescopic suspension and at the rear, it comes with an adjustable mono-shock. The chassis is of high rigidity under bone type.

Pros: Unisex scooter, Comfortable scooter, better stability, vibrations free and easy to ride.

Cons: Tyre quality is inferior-easily gets worn out.

The ex-showroom  price of the TVS Jupiter ZX without disc-brake is Rs.57,739/- while that of the Disc brake variant is Rs.59,990/-
