Decathlon Rechargeable Camping Lamp

The best part about this Decathlon product is that campers design it. So, the concept and implementation come from someone who has done that. The BL200 is a 200 lumens lamp with a compact and convenient design. It can comfortably provide enough light for four people and can be used in multiple outdoor, campsites or tent settings.

In terms of features, there’s a lot that this compact lamp offers. There is a 360-degree diffuser for optimal lighting and 3 modes ranging from 100-200 lumens. These modes can be changed easily with a simple rotation.

The battery life is commendable, with 7 hours at 200 lumens, 17 hours at 100 lumens and 28 hours at 15 lumens in red mode. So, in times of emergency, the red method can help this lamp last for over a day. Furthermore, recharging is quite easy with the help of a USB cable and a battery indicator.

The Decathlon Rechargeable camping lamp gets an IPX4 rating for waterproofing and withstands rain in all conditions. It is also lightweight and has a hook that ensures easy hanging. Currently, Decathlon sells this lamp just for Rs. 2499.

Coleman

Portable lighting equipment and Coleman go a long way back in time. Over 120 years ago, the company was incorporated when W.C. Coleman invented the first gas-powered, portable lantern. Since then, Coleman kept revolutionising only to reimagine a better tomorrow. Today, the company is present in numerous countries and deals with a wide range of products across categories.

Coleman firmly believes that the time spent outdoors helps people reconnect with each other and the planet. With one experience at a time, Coleman aims to create a path to a better tomorrow.

Coleman 400 Lumens Classic Rechargeable LED Lantern

Of course, we will start by addressing the most exciting part. This rechargeable light is a lantern! So, if you crave the excellent old camping feels, Coleman Rechargable Light is just for you. Now, let’s get into the details.

This 400 LED rechargeable lantern resembles a traditional lantern in design and is very easy to carry anywhere and everywhere. It comes with an integrated lithium-ion battery that can be charged from all kinds of outlets. Therefore, you can do away with the hassle of needing fresh batteries. The LED indicator on the lamp turns green to indicate full charging.

Now, let’s get into its functionality. Once fully charged, this rechargeable LED lantern shines 400 lumens brighter, lighting up more than 1200 meters on the highest setting. The battery runtime is 5 hours on this mode and 20 hours on the low mode.

Above all, this LED never needs replacement and lasts for a lifetime. Notably, even when this Coleman rechargeable stays on for hours, it always stays cool and is safe to touch. Currently, this product is priced at Rs. 2880.

Other Coleman Products

Coleman’s product portfolio includes more rechargeable lighting equipment and this rechargeable lantern. In addition, there’s a USB flashlight and more lanterns with 300, 500 and 800 lumens capacities.

Verdict

In terms of features, these lights from Decathlon and Coleman are more or less similar. You get a good throw, multiple modes and good battery life. Convenience also ranks high as these lights have a design that makes hanging easy.

However, there is a significant difference in the lumens. The Decathlon camping lamp gives out 200 lumens, whereas the Coleman emergency rechargeable lantern provides 400 lumens. So, if you’re choosing a camping location that’ll be darker most often, it’s always better to use more lumens for brighter light.

The battery life for these two products is more or less the same. But it’s always better to go for more when you’re on the road or the hills. Another essential factor to keep in check should be the waterproofing rating.

Even in terms of price, there is no significant difference. So, the purchase decision must be made thoughtfully after consideration of the conditions of your camping location. Then, select the rechargeable emergency light that best fits your needs.
