LG lately launched the awaited G8s ThinQ which was first shown along with the G8 ThinQ and first 5G dual-screen V50 ThinQ at the mobile world congress in Feb 2019. So it is evident that the launch of the G8s ThinQ took a while since its first debut. So for now, LG has only launched two flagship-level smartphones in the year 2019 if the domestically manufactured budget smartphone - LG W30 is not taken into consideration.

The LG G8s ThinQ runs on high-end hardware and has a triple rear camera setup along with two cameras for selfies at the front.

Design and finish

The phone size and ergonomics are the best in class as it is mediocrely sized and comes in total glass finish. The front of the smartphone consists of notch over the display that houses the two selfie cameras, the notch is similar to that of the iPhone X’s. The fingerprint scanner is placed below the horizontal triple camera at the rear and the LED flash can be seen on the right side of the camera module. The LG G8s ThinQ comes with an IP68 rating which means it is waterproof up to 1.5 meters of water till 30 minutes. The phone is currently available in the mirror black color only. Overall the LG G8s ThinQ design comfier and the phone is quite handy.

Specifications

The LG G8s ThinQ is based on the Snapdragon 855 SoC that boards octa-core processor paired with either 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage or 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The graphics load is carried by the Adreno 640 GPU.

LG G8s ThinQ boasts a 6.21-inch G-OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2248. The display supports DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10, and Dolby Vision.

At the optics front, the triple rear camera at back consists of the primary camera of 12 MP with f/1.8 wide-angle lens, a 12 MP camera sensor with f/2.6 telephoto lens, and a 13 MP camera sensor with f/2.4 ultrawide lens. The focusing is handled with the PDAF technology and the videos are stabilized with the incorporation of OIS technology at the primary camera sensor. The front camera module includes an 8 MP camera sensor with an f/1.9 wide-angle lens and a 3D ToF camera.

The LG G8s ThinQ gets the energy from the non-removable Li-Po 3550 mAh battery and the phone can be fast-charged using an 18W fast charger. The phone also supports wireless charging.

The phone comes with a hybrid dual sim slot which can either fit in two sim cards or a sim card and a micro SD card. The storage of the LG G8s ThinQ can be expanded using the micro SD card by up to 2TB.
