All new facelifted Renault Kwid
Renault Kwid due to its looks which resembles SUV and its low price made itself a bestselling car from the brand in the past few years and it was the outcome of making minor improvements whenever and wherever possible. The Renault recently updated the Kwid with remarkable makeover which was inevitable to sustain in the market. The Kwid has not only gone through the facelift but some other up-gradation too.
Facelift
Exterior
The new Renault Kwid comes with a revised front grille and bumper which now looks better than the previous ones. The new grille now comes with a horizontal strip which seems continuous with the day time running headlamps on positioned at each end.
The 14-inch wheels are the real charm of new Kwid. The Climber variant has got muscular 14 Inch multi-spoke wheels which set the ground clearance to 184mm which is 4 mm greater than the last ones.
The new Kwid has adapted 4 mm reduction in the height and 52 mm increment in length but the wheelbase has remained the same. The reduction in height is the effect of re-contoured roof lines.
At the back, the updated Kwid comes with C-shaped LED guide lights encapsulating taillights and revised bumper with vertical reflectors.
Renault has reinforced the body of the new Kwid to comply with the latest crash norms and for pedestrian safety.
Interior
The cabin of new Renault Kwid now comes in dual-tone and chrome accents. The buyer gets the privilege of choosing between orange and white colour for upholstery, other than this the buyer can opt for premium cross-way fabric upholstery with red outlines. The steering wheel comes wrapped by leather having stitches contrasting with black leather. The Climber variant comes with sport orange tone at interiors which are seen door accents and many other areas like the border of 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The same infotainment system supports Android Auto, Apple car play, Video playback and Voice command.
Safety Features
Safety features like driver-side airbag with the option of the passenger-side airbag, ABS with EBD and other necessaries like seat belt reminder, over-speed alert, are included in the hatchback.
No change in Motor
Like the previous versions, the new Renault Kwid is available in two engine variants of 800 cc and 1.0 L with the option of Manual transmission and Automatic transmission (AMT). The new Kwid with 0.8 L engine produces power of 53 bhp at 5678 rpm and torque of 72 Nm at 4386 rpm while the Kwid with 1.0 L engine produces 67 bhp at 5500 rpm and torque of 91 Nm at 4250 rpm . The revised Kwid yields mileage of 22.3 Kmpl, 21.7 and 22.5 Kmpl by Kwid with 0.8L engine, 1.0 L engine with MT and 1.0 L engine with AMT respectively. The new Renault Kwid engines are not BS6 compliant which can be considered a major drawback.
Price
The Ex-showroom price of the new Renault Kwid starts at Rs.2.83 lakh and ranges up to Rs.4.84 lakh for the top variant.
