Honda HR- V

The Japanese car manufacturer, Honda is going to unveil a compact SUV for India named Honda HR-V. The upcoming SUV from Honda is already available in the global market but Honda India will bring the SUV to India along with alterations in looks, dimensions or say size. The new SUV will directly rival well recognized compact SUVs like Creta, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and also newly arrived MG Hector and Kia Seltos.

 

Looks

Look wise the Honda HR-V will be similar to the brand’s high-end SUV, Honda CR-V. The silhouette of the upcoming arrival resembles the outline of CR-V. The camouflage of HR-V was spotted on streets and was said to be going through a testing phase on roads. The shape of the HR-V is now known and is very much similar to that of the Global version.

Engine and power train

The Honda HR-V is expected to come with the same engine as that of Honda City which is a 1.5 L petrol engine and will also comply with BS6 norms. The global version has the same engine from Honda Civic and Honda CR-V that is a 1.6 L diesel engine for diesel variants and the Indian version is expected to have the same. The BS6 compliance of the diesel engine is not confirmed but the expectations are higher.

All the features from the global version are expected to be present in the Indian variants. Global version of Honda HR-V has the following features:

  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • 8-way adjustable powered seats
  • 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit

  • Honda’s Lane Watch camera

Some of the above features are expected to accompany specific engines only.

Launch

The Honda HR-V is expected to get launched in the month of November 2019 in India and will directly strike great impact on the sales of already available SUVs like Creta, Harrier, MG Hector, Kia Seltos and Jeep Compass.

 

Price

The starting Ex-Showroom price of the upcoming Honda HR-V is expected to be around Rs. 15.0 lakh and is speculated to go all the way up to Rs. 21.0 lakh for the top model.
